Listserv Announcement Submissions
Process
Criteria: Subject matter must be relevant to ALCA activities, ACA activities, the counseling profession, or counseling issues and concerns. All requests for announcements to be posted are subject to review and approval by the ALCA Listserv Administrator.
How to format your announcement:
Submission: please email to [email protected]
Subject Line: The subject line should be a descriptive title, so that the reader knows what the email is about but it should also be concise. The ALCA office will not come up with your subject line for you.
Good Example: Chapter IV Ethics Workshop April 20th
Body of Email
Very first sentence – Please post to Listserv/Newsletter
For Job Opportunities, Supervision Opportunities – format your announcement with all relevant information. You need to include the location of the opportunity and good contact information and of course, the actual job posting.
For Professional Development Opportunities – please format your email to look exactly like this:
Name of Event: The title of your event
Organization/Person hosting event: Private practice name, Chapter, Division, Affiliate, group of people, etc.
Message: The message should be clear and complete. It should include all the necessary details without being too lengthy. It may include promotional language.
Date, Time, and Location of Event: please do not skip this or it is unable to be placed on the ALCA calendar
Deadline for Registration: one of the most asked questions, please include.
CE Availability: If CEs are to be provided, definitive information regarding their offering including which service provider is issuing them should be included.
Contact Person’s Information for Event: This is vital. If there is no contact information, people reach out to ALCA for information that we cannot provide.
Any further details: Please pay careful attention to other details that might be relevant: cost, registration process, content session titles, names of guest speakers, special features, etc. If necessary or helpful, you might include driving directions, parking instructions, hotel accommodations, and external links to websites, fliers, etc
